Vision Inspection Cell
Checks dimensions, print, and assembly — pass/fail per unit.

Machine vision system — Wikimedia Commons
Different from a vision sorter (which grades natural variation), an inspection cell is a pass/fail gate for assembled or printed products. It checks that the cap is on, the print is legible, the bracket is the right size, the PCB has every component, the label is rotated correctly. Every unit, photographed and judged, automatically.
Step by step
- 01
Product arrives at a fixed inspection position — held by a fixture or stopped by a gate.
- 02
One or more cameras capture images under controlled LED lighting.
- 03
Software runs your inspection routines: dimension measurement, pattern match, OCR, presence check.
- 04
A pass/fail verdict (with reason codes) is generated within 100–300 ms.
- 05
Pass units continue; fail units are diverted, marked, or stopped for review.
- 06
Every image saved (optionally) for traceability and root-cause review.
What's in the cell
- Industrial smart camera or PC-based vision controller
- LED ring / dome / backlight depending on inspection
- Mechanical fixture or part stop
- PLC for handshake with line
- Touchscreen HMI for recipe management
- Network logging to MES / quality database
Where it fits
- PCB AOI (automatic optical inspection) for missing or wrong components
- Cap-on-bottle presence and rotation check
- Date code and batch number OCR verification
- Label print quality and orientation
- Assembly completeness (screw count, gasket presence)
- Dimensional gauging of plastic / metal parts
Sized to your line
These ranges cover most installations — exact spec depends on your product, throughput target, and integration constraints. We confirm everything before quoting.
We build the rig around the specific check you need — most cells are one-purpose, designed against your sample parts. Lighting is half the job; we test before locking the geometry.
