Meta Ads Management: Facebook and Instagram Ads in Sri Lanka

Meta ads are paid placements across Facebook, Instagram, Messenger and the Audience Network, bought in Meta Ads Manager. We plan, build and run Meta campaigns for Sri Lankan businesses, with tracking set up properly first, so every rupee of ad spend can be traced to a lead, a message or a sale.

Definition

How Meta advertising works

Every Meta campaign has three layers. The campaign sets the objective, such as leads or sales. The ad set chooses the audience, budget, schedule and placements. The ad is the creative people see: image, video or carousel, with copy and a call to action. Meta runs an auction for each impression and shows the ad to the people its system predicts are most likely to take the action you chose.

That prediction is only as good as the signal it receives. Since browser privacy changes cut cookie tracking, Meta relies on the Conversions API, which sends events such as a lead or a purchase from your server to Meta. Campaigns with clean, deduplicated Pixel and Conversions API events usually optimise far better than campaigns tracking clicks alone.

The problem

Where Meta ad budgets usually leak

  • Ads are run with the Boost button, which optimises for likes and clicks instead of enquiries.
  • The Pixel is missing, broken or firing twice, so Meta optimises on bad data.
  • Lead form entries sit in Meta for days before anyone calls, and the lead goes cold.
  • One image runs for months until performance collapses, with no creative testing.
  • The ad account sits under an agency or a staff member, not the business.
How it works

How Meta ads management works, step by step

STEP 1TrackingSTEP 2PlanSTEP 3CreativeSTEP 4LaunchSTEP 5Optimise
  1. STEP 1

    Fix the tracking first

Business Portfolio access, domain verification, Pixel and Conversions API events, deduplication and Events Manager checks.

  2. STEP 2

    Campaign plan

Objective, audiences, offer, budget split and the numbers that decide success, such as cost per qualified lead.

  3. STEP 3

    Creative and copy

Several concepts and formats in your languages, built for Reels, Stories and feed, so Meta can find what works.

  4. STEP 4

    Launch and connect

Campaigns go live, with lead forms or WhatsApp and Messenger chats routed to your team or CRM in real time.

  5. STEP 5

    Test and report

Weekly checks, new creative on a schedule, budget moved to what converts, and a plain monthly report.

Methods

What makes it work

Conversions API

Server-side events from your website, CRM or booking system, deduplicated against the Pixel by event ID, so Meta sees real leads and sales.

Instant lead forms with CRM sync

Lead ads with qualifying questions, delivered to your CRM, email or chat within seconds, and qualified leads sent back to Meta to improve targeting.

Click-to-message ads

Ads that open a WhatsApp, Messenger or Instagram chat with your sales team, a format many Sri Lankan buyers prefer to forms.

Advantage+ campaigns

Meta's automated targeting and placement, used where the tracking is strong enough to guide it, and compared against manual setups.

Creative testing

Structured tests of hooks, formats and offers, with Meta Experiments where a clean A/B result matters.

Compliant categories

Correct setup for special ad categories such as employment, housing and credit, and authorisation for social issue and political ads where required.

Straight answers

What we will not promise

  • We do not promise a return on ad spend before seeing your tracking, offer and margins. Anyone who does is guessing.
  • Meta can reject ads or restrict accounts under its advertising standards. We build within the rules and appeal when Meta gets it wrong, but the final decision is Meta's.
  • Your ad spend goes to Meta from your account. We never mark up ad spend.
FAQ

Meta Ads (Facebook & Instagram): common questions

How much should I spend on Facebook and Instagram ads in Sri Lanka?

+

Enough for Meta to learn. Each ad set needs a steady stream of the action it is optimising for, so a budget spread too thin across many ad sets rarely works. We set a starting budget from your target cost per lead or sale and your monthly sales goal, and adjust once real numbers come in.

What is the Meta Conversions API and do I need it?

+

The Conversions API sends events such as leads and purchases from your server to Meta, so tracking still works when browsers block cookies. Used together with the Meta Pixel and deduplicated, it gives Meta better data to optimise on. For any business running ads for leads or sales, we treat it as essential.

Is boosting a post the same as running ads?

+

No. The Boost button is a simplified ad with limited objectives and targeting, and it usually optimises for engagement. Campaigns built in Ads Manager can optimise for leads, messages or purchases, use proper audiences and be measured against sales.

Can leads go straight to WhatsApp or our CRM?

+

Yes. Click-to-WhatsApp and Messenger ads open a chat with your team, and instant form leads can be pushed to most CRMs, email or a team chat channel in real time, so nobody waits for a callback.

Who owns the ad account?

+

You do. The ad account, Pixel, page and Business Portfolio stay in your name. We work with partner access and hand back everything, including the campaign history, if you move on.

Do you run Google and TikTok ads too?

+

We focus on Meta, and plan other channels with you where the audience justifies it. For businesses that sell abroad, we also look at ChatGPT ads in the markets where OpenAI has opened them.
